Needless to say, we were very happy to arive on Arizona ground.
In fact, we burst into song at the mere sight of it all.
Okay, well maybe not really. But we WERE happy to be there. We spent a lot of time just enjoying...and marvelling over things like the fact that oranges - delicious, delectable oranges - actually grow in DECEMBER. Ahhh...what a happy, happy place.
We were so excited about this growingness (yes, that is now a word) that we claimed this lemon tree for ourselves. Ha ha!
We also spent some time dreaming and we went around the Gilbert/Queen Creek area looking at properties for sale...like this one!
We even went places that were new to the both of us (betcha didn't know Hog Heaven was in Arizona, did you??)
Come Christmas Eve and the actual holiday, we actually WERE in Hog Heaven...seriously, we ate and ate and ate and ate and ate...and it was all SOOOOOO good!
We both got to talk to our long lost brothers...Gage in Guatemala and Jared in Scotland.
We continued our "getting spolied" streak and received some AMAZING presents, like these: a Russian fairytale book and a wheat grinder.
But we actually did GIVE some presents too. For Mama and Daddy, all of us childrens got together to make this beautiful wall saying happen: "Merely to be there was a cure for weariness, fear and sadness." (It's from Lord of the Rings for all you fans out there).
We also got new frames and current pictures of all of us, but we forgot to take pictures of that. And the video we DID get is too big to post here. :( Sorry...
And for Mom and Dad, we were a little late, but it was worth it. Michael, Brelynn's little brother, passed away when he was just a few months old. He'd never gotten a headstone, so for Christmas we ordered a little headstone for him. It turned out great and was very well received!
Your gift to your parents was very, very tender. What a sweetheart you are, Bre! You guys make a great combination! :)
