A Walk in the Park

In an effort to find wholesome recreational activities (as mentioned here), Ammon and I spent the better half of a Saturday longing to go somewhere new, to see something new. It was the first "cold" day of the winter and we wanted to take advantage of the crisp weather. We searched and searched for things to do that could be accomplished in a day with no previous planning.

We considered many options, most of which are a good 3 hours from home. However, the longer we debated the less time we had to get there and back in the daylight hours. So we brought our search closer to home. And more time passed. And we brought the search even closer to home.

Finally, by early afternoon we found out that there is a Regional Park only five minutes from our house. Five minutes! There are a dozen different hikes you can choose from and one was short enough and easy enough that we were fairly confident we could hack it. Even with a little one on our backs (and by our backs, I mean Ammon's back).

It was wonderful. Refreshing.  Invigorating. Inspiring.
And Ammely loved it. She thought it was the greatest thing to be up and about at our level.

It was beautiful. As usual, pictures don't do it justice.
