Every now and again you run into a benefit for going to work five days a week. You know, a benefit other than food, shelter and peace of mind (psssh...those measly little things).
And when you work somewhere awesome with SUPER awesome people then sometimes you get a really cool benefit that doesn't just happen every day.
Like a free movie for instance.
Yes. You read that correctly. FREE movie.
Those eye people that Daddy works for got us into a free movie. An even cooler thing because it was this little girl's very first movie-going experience.
And when I say "got us into a free movie" the "us" in that statement went beyond the three of us. It also included these folks:
Yup, Aunt Tamzon, Uncle JT and Rori (who may have been at her first movie too? Maybe?)
But that's not all folks! It also included Grandma and Grandpa Baysinger. And Aunt Belle and Uncle Kent and Daniel and Levi and Samuel. And Aunt Amber and Uncle Boyd and Kailey and Charis. And Uncle Royal. Sadly, they are not pictured. They sat up in the nose-bleed section. We folks with the little ankle-biters sat down with door access...also known as the "crick-in-the-neck section." (Actually, Uncle Royal did end up joining us below right before the flick started, but still no picture to prove it).
As if "free" weren't awesome enough the movie on the screen was none other than Planes! Waahoooooo!
So we settled in to enjoy the show.
The movie was great. The snacks were great. The company was great. The baby was...mostly great. She was a perfect little viewer, eating her red vines and popcorn, for about the first half of the movie. ...the second half...well, let's just say that Mommy and Ammely got well-acquainted with the lobby, the coming soon posters, the water fountains and the straws.
But that's okay.
We got back in time to join the dance party going on.
We're so glad that Daddy goes to work every day. We're so grateful that he works for such amazing, generous people.
All in all, it was just "PLANE" awesome. Hehe.

Mommy don't you know that you could of got acquainted with all those cool things in the lobby after the movie? Next time behave yourself so that adorable little movie goer of yours can see a whole movie!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm always in trouble with you, aren't I? One day I will have grandchildren and then Ammely can be the one who is always in trouble. Until then I shall try to do better at the theater.
Delete(HAHAHA! Marlynn, you crack me up!)
ReplyDeleteI love Ammely's little face as she's sitting next to Ammon. :) And I was totally admiring her awesome circular dance moves during the dance party! ;)
Well, after seeing your boys with their sweet dance moves, Ammely has been practicing. She not only can spin in a circle, but she now can also do a little waddle while she sort of flaps her arms up and down...maybe we should call it "The Penguin."
DeleteYaaay! Man, you're quick at posting! ;)
ReplyDeleteFun times for ALL! Great post to commemorate the experience, and to answer your question, No. It wasn't Rori's first movie.
It was actually.....her Fourth:
1st: Les Mes (spent a good 3/4 in the isle right by the door, swinging her in her car seat.
2nd: Ephraim's Rescue (She was a perfect angel. It may've had to do with the fact that it was a very spiritual film. Lovely, soothing music. Well-worth the $).
3rd: Man of Steel (this is where I promised myself I would never ever take her to a theater again. EVER. Horrible experience.)
4th: Planes (so much for my promise. lol)
Sad, right? I'm sacrificing my kid's brain cells early, I know.
You are not sacrificing her brain cells, I'm quite certain. She comes from nothing but brilliance. If anything these kinds of experiences will rope back her brilliance just enough to be able to tolerate the rest of us not-so-bright folks.
DeletePlus, YOU are so brave! I've been terrified to try movies with my wee one. Then again, my child is maybe a bit more...uh...feisty than your angel. :) (And very good to know about Ephraim's Rescue...I've been wondering about that one)
